Great legato technique thanks Tish for this lovely melodic song!

KMW = Kentucky Music Week which had at least 400 happy students of dulcimer, bowed psaltery, guitar, banjo, steel drums, etc - too much to mention. Classes run from string side up to professional level. The video above is part of Tish's section of the instructors concert and she was joined by Stephen Seifert who plays all over the country, teaches, and also plays with symphonies. Tish and he had about five minutes practice together. They received stand up applause. You probably know Tish and her husband Greg from their bowed psaltry products at westmaninstruments.com . KMW is held in June in Bardstown, KY and is at the top of my list for both great learning experiences and fabulous time to share music and instruments with great people.

That first piece is beautiful!  Thanks so much - it says on the title KMW - what does KMW stand for?  Your legato is outstanding :)

I got to spend five days as a student of Tish at Kentucky Music Week. Steve had heard her play somewhere else and Tish asked him to join her at the instructors' show. She wowed the audience and then Tish and Steve created a whole church sanctuary of fans.

KMW is a wonderful week of music loving folk who share music and joy in learning. I strongly recommend it!

I am really impressed by this video.  Watching this video, I had a feeling that learning proper single bowing technique is very important even if you pursue double bowing.

Thank you very much for the wonderful music!

Oh and Terry Kirby....that would be the "guy" that stopped to talk to you about your glissando at Dulcimer Days....I think he finally "noticed" the bowed psaltery...excellent press for the bowed psaltery and our much loved Tish Westman...
