Thank you very much for your welcome to the site and your comments. I am amazed at how friendly everyone is here. It is a welcomed change from other sites. I am a brand new player/beginner and have a lot to learn. If you have any suggested helps like you tube videos etc. that you recommend for an absolute beginner at playing any stringed instrument, please tell me about them.

Thank you so much for the welcome! I am so totally excited about this new journey with a most unique and sweet little instrument! I can't even tell you what exactly drew me to the bowed psaltery. I think perhaps it has such a haunting sound and would lend itself to old time hymns that I so love. Don't know anyone in my neck of the woods that plays one so am looking for books on technique and such.... Already had to change a string... Two days, and I was thrown into the stress of a newbie! But, how I do enjoy my psaltery! I am thinking about the next psaltery...perhaps a little bigger... AND, as always willing to listen to advice and someone to share how excited I am! Paula from Upnorth Michigan :)
