Hi Karen, The psaltery arrived today and I've just finished watching the 2 hour dvd. I'm so blown away by the value of this instrument and all Rick Long sends along with it for the money. Can't wait to start playing around with it after work tomorrow. Since I don't have an iPhone, I've asked Rick for some ideas on how to record my first attempts... I'll post here when I get something recorded.

I have the amplifier that Rick Long recommended, a Roland AC33. It has a chorus effect that sounds nice with the baritone psaltery.

My baritone psaltery that Rick built has an internal amp jack so the amplifier plugs in directly to the psaltery and there is no external microphone. I have a YouTube account and record with my phone and post on YouTube. Since I play by ear it helps me make sure I don’t forget songs I’ve picked out! If you look at “Mary Did You Know?” you can see the amp cord on the side of the psaltery.

Seems like you can do almost anything on an iPhone, but I don't have one. I wonder what other people who have a "stupid" phone might be using. Could you tell me what you use for a microphone and an amplifier? I just don't have an idea of where to begin with these. I do have a Korg clip-on tiny microphone that attaches to an instrument and then plugs into my Korg tuner/recorder (poor sound quality - for practice feedback only).... What are you using? Thanks for any help!

Beautiful! I'm watching the progress of my baritone psaltery from Rick coming up through the states to me - impatient to get started. What are you using to record? I would like to record my progress as you have to get feedback and suggestions as well.
