Hi Hilary Anne

I am in Littlehampton - I play at home because I am not very good! I was going to play at a party last week and when I got there I hadn't brought a bow... so pleased because the friend who's party it was had invited her violin teacher who played with the London Phil, so I would probably have died of shame!

Hello Hilary and welcome to Psaltery Strings!

I didn't know what a West Gallery Quire was, but now I do. That's very interesting and reminded me of something here in the states called Sacred Harp Singing. Don't know why it's called that because harps aren't really involved, it's usuall acapella.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site and visit often. We'd love to hear how about your experience playing and with the West Gallery group!

This video is a personal favorite because it shows a unique type of bowed psaltery with a gorgeous sound. When I heard it I broke out in goose bumps!
