I've been missing from here for some time. But some times life seems so busy. I'm off down to dorset on my hols shortly. I'm taking my Bs. I've had this daft idea about playing on the top of Cerne abbas. Also pay my respects to the last resting place of Pete shutler. The man who made fall in love with the BS.sadly missed.  See More

my regular B S

This is normal B S, made by Lucy & wood grove of England. Bought at a bootfair back in the early 70th after seeing Pete of the yetties play one on stage of the old Marlow theatre, Canterbury. And I've loved them ever since.

it s strange, ive not played my B s for some time, the other day I herd a track by my favourite west country group, the yetties, Lawn sunset. Played on the Bs. I just had to have a go and have a go at it. I sat on the end of the bed and lost myself in music for half hour. I'd forgotten how relaxing the B s could be.

Bang goes the strings alteryof my ps

A rise before before a fall. It goes like this. a forum member Janey very kindly went to the trouble of sending me some strings to replace my broken one, some thing i've never done. Read up on it, that's simple. Well the first string was. put it in and tuned it. ok. check other strings, one seemed flat. ajust string. BANG!
I must remember to make sure i'm turning the right string to the one I want to tune. Things are never simple.

Hi Bob, I have remembered you requesting to hear "Danny Boy" on BP so here is my best attempt so far. This was at least my 60th take and best of 3 completed. Even so the video camera's audio seems to have had trouble recording some high notes, when I checked my Psaltery didn't sound like that in person. "Danny Boy" is a very serious tune let alone the words so I hope I did it justice. Let me know what you think. Happy New Year!
