Hi Barb, you were asking about tripod stands and at ETBPG this year just about everyone (including me) was getting a nice adjustable BP easel being built by Rick Long. You can see them in the videos now being put up from ETBPG. I bought mine and a case and other stuff as a package deal so I can't say for sure how much they go for, I do think it a good idea to tie your BP to it as one person accidentally knocked their BP off it! Hi Barb, about your questions, what tripod etc. First I would ask if your Bowed Psaltery has a threaded hole in the back to receive a tripod. If it does it will attach to any camera tripod. I would suggest looking for one cheap at your local thrift store. Do not buy one with a plastic quick release mounting system, they break easy and often that's why they are there. Get one not to heavy and make sure the legs and adjustments all work. They are a pretty common thrift store find. The fanciest tripod I've seen was made in Germany called a "Magic Seven". It collapses small with its own little bag. If your Psaltery doesn't have a tripod mount hole you may have to have some kind of easel made to fit your Psaltery.

This video is a personal favorite because it shows a unique type of bowed psaltery with a gorgeous sound. When I heard it I broke out in goose bumps!

Please sign up on the bowed psaltery players list

Tish's list is a valuable resource when searching for other players. http://www.westmaninstruments.com/Bowed_Psaltery_List.html

If you are already on Tish's list, why don't you stop in and update your info? While your there take a look to see if there are new players in your area. Who knows, you might get together and make a recording.
