I did, with much help and guidance from my dad. He was a talented woodworker, and had the wood and tools. This was based off the Psimple Psaltery plans, more or less. He passed away before this was completed, so it was up to me to finish. That's where the mistakes came into play. Anyway, I have it now.
How long have you played the bowed psaltery?
Two days, at the time of this writing. I've nearly learned a tune.
Do you perform with the bowed psaltery?
I plan to. I perform at some Renaissance Faires, and I'll add this to the arsenal.
Do you build bowed psalteries for sale?
Do you teach the bowed psaltery?
How did you find out about our Psaltery Strings network?

If you want to come and meet some other bowed psaltery players in person and maybe take a workshop or two come to Cochocton Dulcimer Days. It's very bowed psaltery friendly. I'll be there with a group of psaltery players, were going to play for a half hour on stage Saturday morning (6-16) There will definitely be extra psalteries around if yours isn't done and there is a beginners psaltery class and a beginners music reading, both by Tish Westman, one of the best psaltery players I know. Music and good people, you can't ask for more!

If you are already on Tish's list, why don't you stop in and update your info? While your there take a look to see if there are new players in your area. Who knows, you might get together and make a recording.
