"Mike. I used a guitar fret ruler. I used a 25.5" scale. I set my pins in the same positions where a fret would go. Although I don't think is as critical as setting frets it is a good guide just the same... Robert."

First two recordings

Hi,I've been playing around with two-bow technique. Here's what I've done so far (Eleanor Plunkett and Red Haired Boy). I still have a long ways to go, but am finding the instrument interesting. I got the bowed psaltery in late December and suspect strongly it would be much easier to play with two bows once I get a stand :-)LindaSee More

Broken string on Roosebeck Alto

Hi,I was tuning my Roosebeck Alto when the high E string broke. I was being quite careful and was tuning the right string but it's a new bowed psaltery so perhaps there had been some stress on the string before it arrived. How do I go about finding a replacement? Would I just take the string remnant to a music store, get them to check the gauge and pick up some piano wire? Thanks.LindaSee More
