Do you own a bowed psaltery?
I own two at this time
How did you discover the bowed psaltery?
I saw one at a festival in France. Actually I saw many at that festival, of all sizes.
Who built your bowed psaltery?
I did, in 1984, from rough sketches made'in the field'
Do you perform with the bowed psaltery?
I have played( busked )at festivals, and sometimes played carols at church events, but never used one as my main instrument.
Do you build bowed psalteries for sale?
No,But I have in the past
Do you teach the bowed psaltery?
Used to take a couple into junior school along with plucked psalteries, just to introduce young children to the concept of making music. Now only to anyone who shows interest. Still have two, one with maple back, sides, and end, with walnut inlay around the cedar sound board edges; the other with mahogany back, sides, and end( concealed maple pin block) with spruce sound board, and if asked, am happy to pass on such skills as I may have.

Sorry about that post title, I could't resist it !

Having recently spent time making a couple of psalteries and then playing them in, I have been renewing  aquaintance with my own instrument, which had been out on loan while I made the others.   I picked it up and tested for tuning, it was OK.  It had been OK when I lent it out (sans tuning lever), and I began trying to remember the last time it was tuned.

   I could'nt !

I then gave a thought to the strings on it,…

You should record it then and post the video.  Looked for Hunsford House and under Playford Tunes and didn't find anything by that name.  No big deal.  Just curious as I've never heard of the tune.  I looked up Boulevogue when someone posted they were learning that one, and it's become one of my favorites along with Dark Island.  So I like to find songs people enjoy playing often.

I looked online for a song called "Dancing in the Manor" and there was nothing on that.

Something you wrote?   Do you have a link for that piece of music?

This video is a personal favorite because it shows a unique type of bowed psaltery with a gorgeous sound. When I heard it I broke out in goose bumps!
