Hello Irene, just wanted to make sure you know Nozomi Nose is flying from Japan all the way to the East Tennessee Bowed Psaltery Gathering! See details under events, she will be bringing her BP and I know you would be interested in seeing it and hear her play, hope you can come. I'm driving there from Southern California.
The psalteries I use are built by Makoto Kato, my teacher, who is also a member of Psaltery Strings.
He discovered that the structure with woven thin pieces of wood, like a basket, makes very rich and natural resonation. So his latest psalteries have a back with woven pieces of wood and our wooden psaltery stand has a similar structure. I will add a photos.
