I discovered this great free chromatic tuner app this morning.
I liked it so well, I bought the Pro version and it was less than three dollars. The free version works great and would probably be all most folks need. It always shows the octave number beside the pitch. It also works like the tuners that change colors for sharp, flat, or in tune. You can change the colors to whatever you want. I have mine set as yellow = flat, red = sharp, and green is in tune. Very accurate. The only thing I don't care for is the db meter along the left side, but here may be a way to turn that off. I haven't had time to sit down and explore all the settings.
Sorry Iphone and Ipad users, but you may have a similar or better app already. If you do ,share it with the folks on here.
In learning a little more about the tuner, I discovered you only have to swipe the db meter to the left to get it off the screen. You can use the db meter to set the sensitivity of the phone mic, to help with noisy situations. I keep the db meter off the main screen until needed. The movement of it can be distracting.
I compared the accuracy against my other tuners. It matched perfectly, so I'm still liking it.
