I'm just back from my vacation during which I participated in the 2014 ETBPG.....the event was wonderful. Every year it gets better and I didn't think it could top last year.
A big thanks to Rick Long for hosting the event, and Paul Sykes for for his photo and video work as well as Richard Switzer for his support in the 'slow jams' and to everyone who did a workshop or supported the event in any way.
The event is in a lovely location with fantastic acoustics. I could have done without the SNOW but it was a minor thing : )
Every year the skill level of the players increases, I was very impressed by so many this year, and some were brand new players!
Events of this nature are so important to the growth of the bowed psaltery as well as for our own personal growth. I always leave music gatherings feeling renewed as a human and with a more generous heart.
I recommend attending next year to everyone, brand new players and experienced players alike!
Serenity, I certainly hope you don't think we hold the gathering outside. It is held in a great building that is heated and cooled. As for the snow, you live in East Tennessee, so you know that any snow at the end of Oct. is a rare event. We have too much of a good time to worry about the weather anyway.
Oct 29 - Nov 1 Go to my website at - http://www.ringingstrings.com/Gathering.html for the details. I rent the Pavilion building that is next to the park restaurant. Look at the pictures, you will see we are all quite comfortable and happy.
