So I got called greedy by the one person I know, who knows what a psaltery is.   I came upon another little psaltery by G. Kelisheck.. and purchased it. So I have two of his now.

both are tiny little things, one is my double strung 22 string and this one is conventional with accidentals on one side and the true notes on the other.

the woman I got it from sent a note along with it.  She'd never been able to get any sound out of it.  Said it was broken and she wished me luck with it.

Opening the box I feared what I would find...inside was a little ( barely 14 inches from heel to tip) maple psaltery.  covered in dust and improperly strung.  the wires passed around the hitch pins in the grove at the base.. and went back to loop around the tuning pin.   They'd never grooved the hitch pins and raised the strings.. OR from what I can tell tensioned them at all. also was a copy of how to play the bowed psaltery and bow harp by kelischek with 20 little songs to get people started,  A bow that someone had flipped the strings off of.  thinking I did pretty good for the $50 I paid.

At the moment I have raised and re strung 4 wires.  tightened them to 432hz tuning and its beautiful for what I can do .

pictures soon to come..after the hurricane anyway

LOL, what a story, great find for you. Makes you wonder how it ended up being wired that way..... there they are. my two small beauties, sorta feel like a thief for what I paid

Jeremy,  thanks.

I live in southern pa.. the eye is going to track right over my house in the Noaa model.   The storm itself doesnt scare me much.  Its the aftermath.  I'm on the Susquehanna river, right at the mouth where it meets the Chesapeake bay.  the Susquehanna is 480 miles long and drains  most of Pensylvania and a good portion of Southern New york state.  When the flood waters get here they are already saying they are going to blow up the Dam here to make sure it goes as they want rather then just breaches.

Be safe!!

Nice! You'll have lots of fun...

What little beauties...I especially love the smaller one
