I am seeking instructions to build or perhaps a diagram of a stand that I can put my Baritone Psaltery in. It was built with no support insert so it is not able to have a screw mechanism in the back.

I am not aware of anyone who is providing instructions or diagrams of their bowed psaltery holders. If you have questions you might be able to get some answers or advice from the members who build stands. I know that Rick Long of Ringing Strings builds them and so does Terry Kirby of Spring Creek Psalteries. Both are members here and you should be able to contact them. You could also contract them through their regular web sites.
I'm very satisfied with the platform from JamesJonesInstruments
http://www.jamesjonesinstruments.com/bowedpsaltery/bpaccessories.html
It connects via the screw on the "quick release plate" on my Zeiko tripod http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001F8S576?psc=1&redirect=true..., so no need to have a screw into the back of your psaltery. The platform has edges so that the instrument stays put. This set up is working well for me.
Thanks for the help. This platform looks like I was going to make but after talking to the builder of my instrument, he said not to incase like a coffin, because you would loose some of the fine sound that it puts out. Have you noticed anything like that?
the back does not lie directly on the platform, as its got little dots of something to hold it off. At first, I fretted that tone was lost, and that there was a "buzz". But now I screw everything that can be screwed tight, tight. And the tone seems to improve the more I play it.
Thanks for your interest..As I stated earlier, my Baritone BP is very heavy, and there is no extra support in the middle of it back, so any kind of screw in bracket won't work. I think I am going to try and build a frame like holder, with most of it open to let the sound viberate from it. Thanks again for the ideas...
Joyce, did you ever find a good stand for your baritone, or did you end up selling it?
Amplified Psaltery with Cello Strings built by Rick Long
This video is a personal favorite because it shows a unique type of bowed psaltery with a gorgeous sound. When I heard it I broke out in goose bumps!
