I thank you very much for watching our videos. Let me explain a little about the instrument that we use.
A couple of years ago, I came across with the idea that the structure with woven thin pieces of wood, like a basket, might make the sound of the instrument better. I tried and it worked greatly. Woven thin pieces of wood (of different kinds) made many pathways to transmit the sound, which made the sound of the psalteries richer and more natural, and made the the response of the instrument quicker
I will attach a couple of photos.
My latest psalteries have a back with woven pieces of wood, which add more ‘space’ to the sound of my psaltery and also made the response quicker. Also, I placed a basket-like object at the bass part of my psalteries, which made the volume of the sound box of the bass part bigger and made the bass notes resonate better. My wooden psaltery stand has a similar basket structure. Also the box/basket on the lap is to keep the psaltery up off the lap so that the psaltery can better resonate. I consider the psaltery stands, the bows and other accessories are important part of our instrument.
