I just completed a series of lessons via Skype with Celeste Ray, and was thrilled to learn from a professional who has challenged me to use two bows in new and creative ways. It’s hard to find psaltery teachers in many parts of the country, and teaching one’s self has limitations, but technology makes it possible to take lessons from a distance. Celeste figured out how best to set up our instruments and computer video cameras so that I would get the maximum benefit from the lessons. She was very patient but at the same time encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and learn some new techniques, for which I'm grateful. I highly recommend her as a teacher.
She always looks tremendously perky and alert in the videos, and like she really enjoys it and also like she knows every single song inside and out. I like the two bows technique (and only started this week, so you can imagine there has no been huge progress just yet!) and am always looking for hints and tips. I don't have skype but could maybe get it. Thanks for the recommendation.
