Fifty-nine folks have now pre-registered to attend the 2014 East Tennessee Bowed Psaltery Gathering.  That's only six short of the maximum number that can attend this year.  I now have the schedule posted on my web site at -

It's going to be a big crowd this year and lots of fun.  I put a lot of thought into the schedule and how to arrange the layout of the gathering to try an accommodate everyone at all skill levels.  Kind of hard to figure all that out, so if we need to change anything while the gathering is going on, we can be flexible.

We will be offering mini-workshops and one-on-one help as needed.  For anyone that is attending, please don't be shy about asking the more experienced players for advice or help.  That may be the very place a mini-workshop can get started.

See you all in a few days.  I'm looking forward to experiencing some great music and fellowship.

Thirty-four folks have now registered and paid for the Gathering.  That just over halfway to my limit of sixty-five.  The pavilion building just won't hold more than that comfortably.  Still plenty of time, but don't miss out.  Details at my website - http://www.ringingstrings.com/Gathering.html

I've been to every one of these so far and plan on being there this year too.  SO happy to hear you'll be making it again, Gregg and that Lucas's will be there again.  Maybe we can coax the Westmans  this year too?

Jean and I were very eager last year to get to visit with so many people like ourselves enjoying the beautiful sound of the easy to play Bowed Psaltery at the East Tennessee Bowed Psaltery Gathering hosted by Rick Long. Everybody quickly started playing more tunes than I can remember for days and days until we had to leave. I appreciated Rick's friend Mike O'Bryan playing Appalachian Dulcimer and Dave Lucas' Guitar accompaniment helping us BP's sound even better! Autumn scenery was spectacular. We're all signed in and plan to be there next year, you should come to.

I wanna go so much! Last year I barely knew how to hold my psaltery. This year I am taking classes from Tish Westman at Kentucky Week in June.

Maybe a magic carpet will appear to help get me to and fro.

I had a great time  !! I have my calendar marked for next year. All of you who haven't been to the Gathering need to mark your calendars now for 2014!!  Thanks.

This video is a personal favorite because it shows a unique type of bowed psaltery with a gorgeous sound. When I heard it I broke out in goose bumps!
