I am getting ready to drive there from California so I can bring more instruments and gear than flying, very exciting news Nozomi Nose is coming from Japan, I hope our BP community understands what a once in a life time opportunity this is to get to hear and play along with the best Bowed Psaltery Player in the world without having to go to Japan to visit her!

Also, some pdf and mp3 files for some of the songs I hope to share at the Gathering are in the Bowed Psaltery folder on OneDrive.  Here is the link:

Here is the long awaited 2019 Bowed Psaltery Gathering agenda:
2019 BOWED PSALTERY GATHERING
Cove Lake State Park, Caryville, TN
Thursday – October 24, 2019
7:00pm - Meet and Greet – introductions, learn a song, jamming and socializing
Friday – October 25, 2019
9:30am - 11:00am – Lana Kington - Psaltery Basics for Beginners - So I have a psaltery. How do I tune it? Hold it? Play it? This class is to answer these questions and more to get beginning psaltery players started on a musical journey with this lovely instrument.
Or
9:30am – 11:00am – Songs of the Psaltery Season
Dave will provide a session "Songs of the Psaltery Season". We'll work on his famous song "Classic Cabbage" and there will be some surprises with this famous hit that was on the top ten list in the Spring near his home in Possum Holler. If Dave survives the delivery on the cabbage song, we'll work on some seasonal songs that are appropriate for the latter half of the year (Halloween and Christmas).
Lunch on your own
1:00pm - Jamming is going on all afternoon in the small room
1:00pm – 2:30pm – Rick Long will discuss the care and maintenance of your bowed psaltery
3:00pm – 4:30pm – Gail Van Amberg and Dave Holeton will teach Sounds of Silence with harmony and lyrics as time allows. Provided will be a easy part and a more challenging part to fit the abilities of all players.
Dinner on your own
6:00pm – 10:00pm – jamming and socializing
Saturday – October 26, 2019
All day jamming is going on in the small room.
9:30am - 11:00am – Brenda Mangan – Bowing techniques and styles
Lunch on your own
1:00pm – 2:30pm – Francie Garrett and Jane Hawkins - Celtic Pathways - We will explore a variety of Celtic tunes and ballads, from the mystic to the lively, with an emphasis on the Scottish lilt. There are parts for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Join us playing as a group and creating beautiful psaltery music together!
3:00pm – 4:30pm – Dave Holeton – Medleys with Minor Melodies
Dave will provide a session "Medleys with Minor Melodies". We'll work on learning a song first, then play accompaniment while the song is being sung. We'll learn some licks we can add between phrases in the lyrics. We'll learn a second song in the same manner, then play and sing both songs as a medley. We'll work on as many medleys as time allows for the session. There will be something for all skill levels. Sheet music and chord charts for each song will be provided.
Dinner on your own
6:00pm – 10:00pm – Open mike all acoustical instruments welcome

If you are already on Tish's list, why don't you stop in and update your info? While your there take a look to see if there are new players in your area. Who knows, you might get together and make a recording.
